What it does

TweakIdea gives your startup idea an honest second opinion in about ten minutes. Describe the idea and 14 independent evaluators score it across weighted dimensions like pain intensity, willingness to pay, and founder-market fit. Each one runs its own web research and cites sources, then the results merge into a scorecard with a verdict, letter-graded evidence, and a shareable HTML report.

It also surfaces every untested assumption in your pitch, so you know what to validate next, and generates three concrete rewrites aimed at the weakest dimensions. A second set of commands mines Hacker News for emerging problems worth turning into ideas. Runs in Claude Code.

When to use it

  • You have a startup idea and want an honest read

14 evaluators score it with live web research so you see the weak spots before you build.

  • You want to know what you haven't tested

Every untested assumption in the pitch gets surfaced so you know what to validate next.

  • You're refining an idea across versions

Rewrite it, diff the scores, and share the report to get real feedback.

  • You're mining Hacker News for ideas

Browse HN and run any post through the same scorecard.

Common questions

How is TweakIdea different from just asking ChatGPT?

TweakIdea runs 14 evaluators in parallel, one per dimension, and each does its own live web search and cites sources. You get a structured scorecard you can revisit and share instead of a single paragraph.

What do I get back?

TweakIdea returns a scorecard with a GO, PIVOT, or STOP verdict, a 14-dimension breakdown of what is strong and weak, an assumption ledger of untested claims, and a shareable HTML report.

Is TweakIdea free?

Yes. TweakIdea is open-source under the MIT license and free to run. You start it with npx tweakidea, or /tweak:evaluate inside Claude Code.

How long does an evaluation take?

TweakIdea returns a full report in about 10 minutes, since the 14 evaluators research and score in parallel rather than one after another.
